Six years ago yesterday, a milestone passed, almost unnoticed.
Exactly six years (and one day) ago, Rob and I committed our hearts to a little girl on the other side of the world. We had no idea who she was, what she looked like. Her personality. Her passions. We took our first step toward adopting our sweet Ellie.
Then, exactly five years (and one day) ago - exactly one year - we got our first glimpse of her. We learned who she was: Qiu Li Xien. Our beautiful daughter, very tiny, but healthy. Today, she's better known as Ellie. Queen of hugs, princess of dresses and all things frilly. Tough as her brothers. Daring.
Ellie, we are so thankful you are ours!

How awesome is that. God blesses in so many ways but through life and our children is the most rewarding. With every challenge is a joy like no other. Ellie is amazing and beautiful in so many ways just like her amazing and ever loving family. Im so happy for you guys, god is AMAZING!!!

I'll always remember the 'reverence' she had for "Princess Jenny," at Dan and Jenny's wedding in 2007. Tender and sweet ... your love for Ellie!
Ellie is all that and more. She is so precious and poses for Jim every time she sees him with the camera at church. Congratulations to you and Ellie.

What a day to remember indeed! Congratulations, Dawkins family. Your heart for Ellie has blessed all who are fortunate to know her. We're looking forward to all the next six years hold in store for your beautiful daughter.
