While shopping earlier today (for a special little someone's very pink birthday party tomorrow), the lady in front of me was finalizing her purchases when one of the items fell apart in her hands. She looked down at it, shook her head just a little side to side and exclaimed, "Well, I guess God didn't want me buying that today." She set it aside.
I giggled and replied, "I think the same way when that happens."
We got to talking about that little voice that keeps us from making bad decisions. Big or little. And how much we appreciate that guidance. It was one of those conversations where more was said in between the words than in the actual conversation. She said good-bye with a warm smile I know I'll see again one day.
Now I'm thinking... "God, can you put my speech together just as easy?" Thanks!!!

Karen...Yes He can put your speech together that easy...Praying He does.
Glad I found you through the shespeaks page on Facebook. Praying for you!
Thanks for the prayers, Angela! :)
I finally have the first draft of one done. YAY!!!
See you next month.
Nice Karen. It's the 'still small voice' that guides us in all things if we love Him...
Thanks for visiting my blog! Yours is so lovely! I love the colors! I will see you soon! :)
And...first draft? Good for you! I haven't even created a document yet! Hoo boy!!! I've never been good at "writing" speeches. Because I never end up following what I write down, I don't memorize anything, and I've just sort of spoken extemporaneously. I know that's a huge no-no...which is why I need this conference! Lord have mercy!
I agree, I find when I pray for inspiration it comes. I guess I'm more open to hear the ideas. Good luck on your speech!
Kimberly,
It's been a good day. I'm driving my son back and forth to Raleigh all week, so I'm writing in my head as I drive and then throwing it all together at home. Right now it's a hodge podge of ideas, but I'm making progress. :)
We have a huge children's camp at our church in mid-July so I need to "git r done" while I can.
Praying for inspiration for bloggy friends and She Speaks friends! Listen to that still small voice!
Love,
Karen
Progress is good! You're a lot further along than I am! Wow, I didn't realize you must be just down the road apiece from me. (I'm in Fayetteville)
Only an hour away! Just east of Raleigh.
By the way, I'm an off the cuff speaker too, but I was a prosecutor for a few years. I've learned to make an outline if I ever hope to expect someone else to follow my train of thought!!! Like that sentence... could you follow it???
=D
God never leaves a prayer unanswered. He will help. I am visiting from the hop! I am your newest follower and would love it if you would follow me back! thanks so much!

I love those moments when the truth is just so plain!
I definitely feel that "the Little voice" is my guardian angel helping me along the way, for which I am so grateful.
