Hello dear friends,
I shared recently that I plan to pursue my passion to write. The past couple weeks, I've been researching opportunities, studying how to write more effectively, and praying. Would you help me, please?
Take a few minutes - or if completely into it, a few hours - and read through old posts to share your favorite. Let me know which post speaks best to you and why.
To make it easy (we're all pressed for time):
1. click on a tag that interests you (That's the big jumble of words to your right. The bigger the word, the more blog posts have been written on that topic.)
2. read through the posts on that topic.
3. let me know your favorite -- or your least favorite -- by posting a comment below this post. (Click the word "comment" below this post and all the comments appear, including a new comment box.)
4. THANKS! :)
I hope that somewhere in what I've already written lies the spark of a genuine article waiting to grow into its full-size self. Maybe somewhere in here my style stands out.
Thank you for helping me become more of me!
Love,
Karen

If you are looking to get some training, the Christian Writer's Guild has a great apprenticeship program. I went through it a couple years ago. Wish I'd finished it, but life got in the way. I did get some articles published, though and positive feedback on a book proposal from a publisher. Unfortunately they didn't pick it up. In time I will do more with it. :)
Thanks, Christy.
I'm reading On Writing Well by Zinsser, learning to hone my skills. Researching training opportunities and conferences as well. I plan to attend the writers portion of P31 this summer. :)
So excited to finally be stepping in to who I am!!! Looking forward to the journey!
Hugs,
Karen
Really? I have to pick a favorite?? LOL
In this modern world women are fed lies on TV and by each other that we have to be "Perfect Moms. Wives, Friends, etc". We sometimes put on a mask or facade that hides who we really are. Putting on that facade only makes the women around us feel even more like a failure because the fake standard is so hard to live up to.
I love that your blog is written by a REAL woman's perspective. You are not afraid to show the world the ugly side of life that most women try to hide. I especially like the posts "I'am so proud!", and "Holy Spirit Livin". You put it all out there for the world to see which personally makes me feel normal...like I'm not the only one who royally messes up sometimes.
You then add in scripture though, that gently guides a person back to reality that it's OK that we mess up and fall down, as long as we don't stay there. You guide the reader to the One and Only who can help them change by the Grace He gives for making mistakes and you remind us how easily He will forgive and guide us to be a better Mom, Wife, and friend if we only ask. You also don't take all the credit for having great kids or a great marriage. You let it be known it's by following Jesus and listening to his leading spirit. That is refreshing.
So in short, I like how honest you are no matter how ugly that can be and when you share scripture that the reader can chew on! LOL
I am so excited to see you going after your passion in life. I pray that God will touch many other lives through your words and His.
ROCK ON KAREN!!! :-)
Thanks, Dana!!!!
I'll look at those right now! Ellie's not home until 1:00.
Without Jesus I'd be a complete mess!
