Update on Kids in Orphanages in Haiti

Dear Friends,
The situation in Haiti continues to deteriorate. Please continue to pray for the people there, ask God what you can do (lots of options in the rest of this post), and remember to thank Him for all He has already done. I continue to stand in awe that countries that can't get along in the everyday are cooperating to rescue the people of Haiti. There is truly no limit to what God's love and power can accomplish.

Kindy, another little one with a forever family here in the U.S., waits. His orphanage was able to get word out very early that all the kids survived the quake. Unfortunately, the situation is getting worse very quickly. One of the nannies died in the earthquake, and her body remains there. The orphanage has run out of drinkable water. They are running out of other essential supplies: formula, medicine and IV fluids for the sick. The banks have shut down, so they have no access to cash to purchase what supplies are available for sale.

Christian organizations throughout the U.S. continue to provide opportunities to help.

If you live in North Carolina, Wilmington, Clayton/Johnston County, Raleigh or Greensboro, you can help by providing medical supplies to be shipped to Haiti. C3 Church in Clayton is coordinating efforts with many N.C. churches and national organizations to collect supplies and get them shipped to Haiti. For more information, please go to http://c3church.com/home/haiti.

My friend, Barb, shares about another organization, Lifeline Christian Missions, that runs homes for orphans in Haiti. For more information on how to help, please go to http://www.lifeline.org/.

There is so much we, the church, can do together to help the hurting people of Haiti. Do not grow tired of praying, but continue to ask God how you can help. Each of us, doing our part, can make a huge impact.

As a familiar saying goes:
How do you eat an elephant?
One bite at a time.

With continued prayers for Haiti and thankfulness for a God who can do more than we can imagine.
